| Socializing your new puppy is critical to his/her development. A well socialized dog is friendly to people and other dogs alike. Well socialized pups are happy to meet new people and new dogs and pose less of a biting risk. And don't fall into the trap of thinking 'I already have a dog at home, so that dog will help socialized my new puppy'. It's not true. Your new puppy will learn only how to interact with your existing dog, not with new dogs. In fact, your new puppy may become dependent on your older dog. It's important to make sure your new puppy is properly socialized with many other dugs. |
